Boongala Native Gardens and Rainforest is an 11 acre property located in Kenthurst, NSW. These extensive gardens have been developed over a number of years by Mal and Jenny Johnston. The property also includes a lush rainforest, which has been maturing for the last 25 years. When you visit Boongala you will discover a wide range of Australian plants, wildflowers and the birdlife they attract. Boon

gala Gardens is a great place to spend the day with your family. There are tables and chairs available to those who would like to have a picnic lunch within the gardens (no BBQs please). A large range of native plants are for sale on site at the gardens. These include bird-attracting, rainforest and bushtucker plants. These plants are available in various sizes (tubestock and larger). Boongala Gardens is also available for wedding ceremonies, school excursions, group visits and other functions.

Red flowers are Queensland Firewheel Tree flowers. Orange Berries are on our Queensland Pittosporum Tree.
Amazingly, we now have twelve thousand followers on Boongala.

Bunya Bunya nut time at Boongala. They taste good roasted or raw. We have about twelve mature Bunya trees that offer protection and nesting places among the prickly branches for the birds that live at Boongala.

Two of our little mates that call Boongala Home.
We have an abundance of hollow logs for them to live in, as well as lots of large Staghorns they can also use as a home.

Our Red and Yellow Kangaroo Paw at Boongala's front gate are looking great. The Mauve Emu Bush, the Red Grevillea Banksii and Cream Grevillea Moonlight have really put on a show this Spring.

Two of our favourite Aussie Native Plants. Fraser Island Creeper (Tecomanthe hillii pink) and Holly Fuschia (Graptophyllum ilicifolium red) putting on a real show in the gardens at the moment.

Our Boongala Native Orchids will be shown on Gardening Australia this Friday night. Clarence Slockee will be presenting a story which includes the Beautiful Native Orchids that we have at our Boongala Native Gardens and Rainforest.

Our Boongala Native Gardens are open for the next two weeks, on Friday's, Saturday's, Sunday's, and Monday's. 10am to 4pm. Rainforest and Bush Tucker Tours leave 11am and 1.30pm. Plenty of colour in the gardens at the moment. Lots of great Aussie Native Plants for sale.
