🌧Think cleaning out the gutters is a job that can wait until next weekend? Think again! Following heavy rain early yesterday, Lockyer Valley SES crews were in action helping residents but unfortunately they came across some damage that was a direct result of lack of preparation. It’s gutters like these that can cause serious damage to homes during a downpour.

While the SES has more than 5,000 volunteers across the state, severe storms and the damage that comes with them can result in thousands of calls for assistance, which really stretches our volunteers. With more rain forecast across the state this week, your best defence is prevention and preparation. While you’re at it, here’s something to consider: If you are fighting fit and live near someone who is elderly or disabled and unable to access their own gutters, why not offer to clean them out too? After all, we’re all in this together!
