Lyonesse Country Gardens

Lyonesse Country Gardens The perfect venue for Wedding, Engagement, Christening, Blessing, Formal or Family photographs.

"Lyonesse" is a 1930's Queensland Gable style home which was transported from Moorooka to Kingsthorpe in 1994 and is now surrounded by stunning gardens which have been developed over the years. The garden has won numerous prizes in the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers Chronicle Garden Competition. The gardens are set on just over half an acre, and you are able to choose from the Secret Garden, Crepe

Myrtle Lawn, Informal Australian Native Garden or Formal Rose Garden. There are a number of bridges, a dry creek bed and also lots of other secret treasures and romantic spots to discover throughout the garden. The fairy garden is an ideal setting for a children's photo shoot and the Formal Rose Garden would make for a very romantic wedding or engagement sunset photo shoot.

This is Drynaria Rigidula "Whitei" - Basket Fern. These ferns are an epiphyte and are endemic to rainforests in Qld and NSW. They are sadly listed as an Endangered Species in NSW.
This beautiful specimen has come from up around the Glasshouse Moutains.

Revamp of Mums memory garden part 1.
The daisies and salvias I originally planted had come to the end of their season and were looking untidy. I've replaced them with Grevilleas, Thryptomene, Leucophyllum and Roses. The planter boxes and pots have been planted out with Begonias and Violas.
Part 2 will be completed next weekend. Can't wait for it to be finished!!!

My beautiful mosaic birdbath has become a water source for the bees and insects that inhabit the garden. I make sure there is fresh water in it everyday.
It's a busy little place today 😍

I got this beautiful pot from my late Mums garden and today I planted it up with the gorgeous rose- Carabella.
Carabella is a floribunda rose bred by my Great Great Uncle Frank Riethmuller. Uncle Frank was a renowned Australian Rose breeder.
The pot is surrounded by some Australian Native plants and garden features.
A little bit of Mum, a little bit of me and a little bit of family 😍
