As we just celebrated this week International Women’s Day, I, as a Lebanese/Australian woman, am aware of the pain and loss surrounding us with wars tearing communities and families apart across the world. I share this milestone with humility and gratitude—for the privilege of being able to research, dream and build toward a better world, when so many cannot.
Thrilled to share that I passed my PhD second milestone this week!
My research explores how regenerative design — rooted in Indigenous knowledge and reaching toward city-wide ecological connectivity — can restore urban biodiversity and rebuild reciprocal relationships between humans, communities and the more-than-human world, with Naarm/Melbourne as a globally transferable case.Thrilled to share that I passed my PhD second milestone yesterday!
My research explores how regenerative design — rooted in Indigenous knowledge and aiming for city-wide ecological connectivity — can restore urban biodiversity and rebuild reciprocal relationships between humans, communities and the more-than-human world, using Naarm/Melbourne as a globally transferable case.
I am deeply grateful to my wonderful supervisors Lacey Bekessy Barns Black for their ongoing guidance and support throughout this journey.
A special thank you to Jacinta Humphrey who served as my external examiner, and to Mittul Vahanvati who chaired the presentation. Your generous feedback and thoughtful suggestions have truly strengthened this research.
Onward to the next milestone! 🌿
