On Sunday a lovely young couple from Canberra visited, enjoyed lunch and roamed around the garden and commented about how wonderful it was just to relax in the open air. All too often we forget about the simple pleasures in life...just relaxing outside in a garden.
With the relaxation of Covid restrictions we have planned some events for 2022 starting in early April with our "Sunday Luncheon table for 8" followed by our Easter egg hunt for 4-8 year olds.

We look forward to welcoming everyone to our gardens and farm.

It has been a hectic time here with our beautiful corgi who was bitten not once, but twice in 7 days by a snake. Although we did not see it, we knew immediately and with an emergency trip to the vet (within 25 mins of bite) we still have our precious pet. Daily we see an improvement in him and yesterday he even greeted some of our visitors with a bark. So many thanks must go to the dedicated staff at the Vet Hospital who not only had to treat our "Jack", but comfort the "parents" as well.
Thankfully we can enjoy the gardens as they have never looked so vibrant.

So that you can have a "real" lavender experience we have planned a very special event: On Sunday23rd & Sunday 30th we have planned a "Pick-a-bunch-lunch". The cost per person is $80.00pp. and includes harvesting your own lavender bunch as well as lavender to do a distillation, a guided garden walk, entrance fee, a bottle of essential lavender oil and lunch. Many thanks to the wonderful people who visited the farm during the Festival. The weather treated us well with sunny days so we were able to stay dry and enjoy the sunshine.
Special people deserve heaps of praise; our sponsors, Larkman Nurseries, Riversdale Irises, Christina Fosch, (Aromatherapy) Bronwyn Haynes (Crookwell Community Garden) and the amazing Jane Edmanson OAM who happily chatted with the guests.
Thanks must also go to the many friends who happily supported us cooking, cleaning and looking after our visitors.

Well I know the weather is looking wet (if you can believe the reports), but we have plenty of shelter and warming food for everyone. All of our special guests will be here to welcome you and shower you with lots of great ideas.
We plan to be safe, so masks are a must when in close contact with others, but in the open gardens you can smell the lavender and fresh air.

When I first had the pleasure of meeting Jane, I was overwhelmed with her willingness to share her knowledge. It is little wonder that she spent over 30 years with ABC Gardening. The lavender is looking wonderful and if you are visiting please note the following.
Book a place with date, number of people and phone number by email [email protected]. You must wear masks and closed shoes (no thongs/sandals). Do NOT use GPS...travel from ???? to Crookwell (turn R towards Taralga) or to Taralga (turn L to Crookwell) The GPS will be a dirt road. We are 45 mins from Goulburn

Yesterday I took some time out to visit our local Community Garden and am amazed at the range of plants: herbs & vegetables they have growing in various mediums. (hay bales, raised beds etc.) Thus, I am excited to have a representative of the garden at our Lavender, Herb & Chilli Festival on Jan 8th & 9th. There is an opportunity to join one of her workshops and ask questions about the different methods of gardening and how to create a water wise garden.
