🌿🍓 BERRIES GALORE THIS WEEKEND! 🍓🌿

If you’ve been thinking about adding berries to your garden… this is your sign 😍
We’ve got a HUGE range heading to market – perfect timing to get them established for seasons of delicious harvests!

This weekend’s lineup:
🍇 Marionberry
The king of blackberries! Deep, rich flavour – perfect for jams, desserts, or straight off the plant (if they make it that far 😅)

🍇 Boysenberry
A classic cross between raspberry and blackberry – big, juicy fruit with that old-school berry flavour everyone loves.

🍇 Silvanberry
Early fruiting and super productive. Large, sweet berries with a slight tartness – great for fresh eating or baking.

🍇 Tayberry
Long, cone-shaped berries with a strong raspberry flavour. Very juicy and fantastic for jams and freezing.

🍇 Youngberry
Sweet, soft and full of flavour – a bit like a boysenberry but earlier and often heavier cropping.

🍇 Thornless Blackberries
All the flavour without the scratches 🙌 Easy to pick, vigorous growers and very productive.

🍓 Raspberries
A must-have for any garden! Sweet, tangy and perfect for fresh eating, desserts or freezing. Absolute crowd favourite.

🍒 White Currants
Something a bit different! Translucent, sweet little berries with a mild flavour – great for fresh eating, garnishes or preserves.

💡 Why plant berries now?
Get them established early and you’ll be rewarded with stronger plants, better yields and earlier harvests next season.

🌱 Grown better from the start:
Our berry plants are high health stock, produced through clean propagation methods — not grown from old canes.
That means you’re far less likely to run into the soil-borne diseases that can come with traditionally propagated plants 👌

⚠️ Season update: This weekend is our second last markets for the season before we take a break until August — so if you’ve been waiting, now’s the time to grab what you need!

🪴 Quick berry planting tip:
Plant in a sunny spot with well-drained soil, add plenty of compost, and mulch well to keep roots cool and moist. A simple trellis or support will make picking easier and improve yields 👍

🥦 Fresh Veggie Seedlings for This Weekend’s Markets! 🌱

Autumn is one of the best times to get your veggie garden going in Tasmania. Cooler temperatures, reliable rainfall and fewer heatwaves make it perfect for establishing leafy greens and brassicas before winter.

We’ll have a great range of fresh, healthy vegetable seedlings ready for your garden this weekend at the markets:

🥦 Broccoli ‘Marathon’ – A reliable, cold-tolerant variety that produces large central heads followed by side shoots for extended harvesting. Perfect for autumn planting.

🥦 Broccoli Baby Bunching – Produces lots of small tender stems rather than one large head. Harvest young and often for sweet, delicious broccolini-style shoots.

🥬 Savoy Cabbage – Beautiful crinkled leaves with a mild, sweet flavour. Excellent for winter cooking, soups and stir-fries.

🥬 Mizuna – A fast growing Japanese green with feathery leaves and a mild mustard flavour. Fantastic in salads and stir fries and very productive through the cooler months.

🥬 Purple Pak Choi – Eye-catching purple stems and leaves that look amazing in the garden and on the plate. Quick growing and great for Asian dishes.

🥦 Cauliflower ‘All Year Round’ – A dependable variety that performs well in cooler weather and produces lovely white heads. A classic winter veggie.

🥬 Brussels Sprouts – These need a long growing season, so now is the perfect time to plant for tasty sprouts through winter. Frost actually improves their flavour.

🥬 Tuscan Kale (Cavolo Nero) – One of the most cold-hardy greens you can grow. Deep green textured leaves perfect for soups, pasta dishes and healthy smoothies.

🥬 Silverbeet ‘Success’ – A dependable and productive silverbeet with tender leaves. Great for continuous picking.

🥬 Silverbeet ‘Fordhook Giant’ – A classic variety with large leaves and thick stems. Fantastic for cooking and very hardy through winter.

🌈 Rainbow Chard – Just as tasty as silverbeet but with bright rainbow stems that make the veggie patch look amazing.

🥬 Red & Green Coral Lettuce – Soft, frilly leaves perfect for salads. These varieties grow beautifully in the cooler autumn weather without bolting quickly.

🐛 Garden tip:
As many of these are brassicas, keep an eye out for the cabbage white butterfly. The caterpillars can quickly damage young plants. We recommend:
• Fine insect netting or mesh covers
• Regularly checking under leaves for eggs
• Hand removing caterpillars early

We’ll be bringing these along to:
🌿 Harvest Market – Launceston (Saturday)
🌿 Farm Gate Market – Hobart (Sunday)

Come grab some seedlings and get your autumn veggie garden off to a flying start! 🌱🥬
