Raising up, looking forward — a flood-resilient redesign on the Camden Haven River.
After the 2021 floods devastated this small cottage, our clients asked us to elevate the existing home above the flood level — as a way to safeguard the home and bring a greater sense of comfort.
In reimagining the house, we embraced its outlook over the river and the clients’ love of tropical architecture. The new design includes functional ground floor spaces for outdoor entertaining, set within what will become a lush tropical garden.
It’s a home designed not just to withstand the elements, but to celebrate the beauty of its setting.
