A qualifying event for the Victorian Tree Climbing competition will be held at the Geelong Botanic Gardens on Saturday August 29.

The Victorian Tree Industry Organisation says the event is a pathway into this year’s Victorian Tree Climbing Championships.

Locals are being encouraged to come and see some up and coming tree climbers being put to the test.

The City of Greater Geelong says arborists are in demand at the moment and the event gives locals a chance to learn more about what the role involves.
