Hi Guys, for those that know me, know that I'm generally easy going and prepared to admit when I make a mistake.
Today on a job I was confronted by a man who was aggressive and abusive from the very first words of damaging his car. This man claims a rock from my mower hit his car at the set of lights at the corner of Cox Rd and Thompson Rd in Norlane. I can't say whether a rock flew out from my mower or not, I honestly don't know. What I can say is while whipper snipping the edges I noticed a crushed soft drink can and a cigarette lighter I removed from the grass. I didn't see any rocks.
Once mowing I looked up and here is a bloke waving his arms in the air at me. I shut down my equipment took my ear muffs off and this guys is verbally abusing me of damaging his car. Like I said I have no idea whether something flew from my mower or not. However this guy was very abusive towards me and asked if I was going to pay for damages to his car which I said no. I don't know whether I've damaged your car or not. A lot of angry words were exchanged between us some I'm not proud of.
At the end of the day my thought was, I'm doing a job minding my own buisness and suddenly I'm being abused for something that's out of my control. If this bloke had of confronted me in a civil manner then I would be more than happy to work something out.
I will not give into abusive and threatening behaviour from people. There are ways to approach someone if you want a civil response.
