It's with a heavy heart...but a very relieved body, that I have decided to hang up my nailbag. This was not a decision I've made lightly. After almost 40 years in the building game, my body is broken.
I now have a much easier job that will be kinder to my body. 🥺🥺

Bought for verandah job. Undeneath sealed with black Solaguard paint to stop ground moisture rising up into the boards.
Job fell through at last minute, hence the reason for selling.
Boards are brand new. Paid $2730.00 Sell for $2400.00

The monster deck is finally done. It took a couple more months than I allowed for it, but that happens sometimes. The main thing is that my client is very happy with it, and so am I.

It's nice when a client says this about a deck I've built. It makes what I do seem worthwhile. 😊😊

I normally brand my decks with my branding iron, but because this deck is so epic and the boards are alot bigger than the standard decks I build, I thought I would do something different. A very good mate of mine that I've known since our early primary school days, has a CNC machine, which is basically a computerised carving machine, so I asked him if he could do my logo in a peice of decking. After spending a couple of hours adjusting it, he finally got an end product that I was happy with. I wanted it to stand out. I had a can of black stain and varnish in my shed, so with a very fine brush and a steady hand, I gave it two coats. As you can see, it now stands out nicely.
I'm very happy with it, and my client absolutely loves it. 😊👍

The big deck is coming along nicely. I've had to order more decking so I'll have to wait to finish it...which sucks. The decking has had two coats of high quality decking oil. The grey decking boards is due to thinking a grey wash oil would make the decking blend in with the property...but I wasn't a fan and neither was the client, so went to the old faithful neutral oil. It looks heaps better and brings out the natural colours of the timber.

This, right here, shows how a craftsman operates. I spent the time to work out the correct spacing of the decking board...
