If you missed it Sunday July 27th was and this year our team planted out a woodlot demonstration site as part of a long term research project. As it establishes, we hope to showcase how different trees grow in our soil and limited rainfall. If you or someone you know are interested in planting their own farm forestry project and would like to know more, drop in and see us on Saturdays 10-4

Plants? check! Labels? Check! One more sleep to Autumn and our regular Saturday 10-4 trading hours? check.

These brightly coloured seeds belong the Bullock Bush (Alectryon oleifolius), a super hardy arid climate specialist. They don’t produce seeds as reliably as other plants, so, we regularly visit patches we've mapped out in different areas for better odds of finding ripe seed. With good germination so far, we will have at least a few hundred plants available in Autumn

Summer seed collection is well underway with around 50 species collected so far including some harder to find understory species. As harvesting wraps up north of the Murray, keep an eye out for our team working along roadsides in the Paruna, Galga, Lowbank, and Swan Reach areas in the coming weeks
