“But what if I need it one day?” 🤔
This is one of the biggest reasons our homes become overwhelmed.
We hold onto clothes that might fit again.
Kitchen gadgets we might use.
Craft supplies for projects we might start.
Furniture we might have room for one day.
Boxes of “just in case” items that haven’t been touched in years.
The problem isn’t the item itself, it’s the cost of keeping it.
Every “just in case” item takes up physical space, mental space, and makes it harder to find and enjoy the things you actually use today.
When your home is filled with things for a life you might live someday, it leaves less room for the life you’re living right now.
Ask yourself:
✨ If I needed this again, could I borrow it, rent it, or replace it?
✨ Has this item earned its place in my home?
✨ Am I keeping this because it’s serving me, or because of fear?
Decluttering isn’t about preparing for every possible scenario. It’s about creating a home that supports your everyday life instead of weighing you down with endless “what ifs.”
Freedom isn’t found in having everything you could possibly need.
Freedom is found in having what you actually use, love, and value.
💛 What “just in case” item have you been holding onto for years? I’d love to hear in the comments.
