High antennas are almost always no longer needed! Most should have been taken down over 25 years ago. Which means now they are usually in very poor condition and dangerous! This was very lucky it hadn’t already fallen one this size would most likely spear through a tin roof doing loads of damage. Came across this recently, installed upside down so it fills with water when ever it rains or even when dew runs down the cables. This is an amplifier which has power running up to it. Don’t get a friend or handyman to do your antenna work, get an expert antenna specialist, call DTAS.

Before and after! Please don’t let your antenna get to this point this was the hardest antenna I’ve had to safely get down! Got it down just in time, within half an hour of getting it down 35-40km winds came. Had we not have got this down it would have most definitely damaged the roof, possibly even power lines and worse. This is about 30 foot pole.
