From growing bushfoods and restoring veggie patches to creating habitats for birds and pollinators, these workshops are all about sharing knowledge, asking questions, and enjoying time surrounded by plants and like-minded people. Small group sizes mean plenty of opportunity for discussion and practical tips.

Looking for a feature tree that’ll be the envy of the town? Check out these gorgeous QLD Waratahs, already over 1.5m tall and ready to be planted in your garden.

These medium sized trees are found naturally occurring in rainforests of Eastern Australia, growing up to 25m. However in cultivation they usually only grow to about 10m. The shiny green elliptical leaves grow up to 18cm long and boast prominent orange-red flowers in August to October. They make a beautiful specimen garden plant 🪴

Proof that it’s ok to leave the garden for an extended period of time and know that it’ll recover (with a little TLC of course).

This garden patch was put on the back burner due to growing our youngest team member about two years ago. After being a successful veggie patch for 3 year, it quickly become a jungle of weeds and completely unmanageable.
However in the last month or so we were able to get back in and bring it back to its former glory - all thanks to a few products we sell in the nursery.
First step was getting in and whipper snipping everything down to ground level, then turning the garden beds over before finally adding some nutrients back in. We used Coir Fibre, Not Just Mulch, Potting Mix and Sugar Cane Mulch to create the perfect blend of soil enrichment and moisturise retention capabilities. The gardens are now planted full of veggie, flowers and herbs ready to grow and feed the family.

If you’re interested in giving your garden some TLC and would like to know more about what to use, come have a chat with us at Forest Heart Nursery in Maleny 🌸
