In the continuous pursuit of keeping Violet entertained and myself active before baby is here, we went Sunflower picking. This was another activity that was very weather dependent but the sun was out and it was cool enough to go. the drive was a little longer this time and Dave joined us.

It was very busy as the season is almost over. There was food, drinks and other Sunflower goodies to buy which was super helpful. Violet didn't understand that she could only pick a few, each flower was about $4, so the rocks became an interest. most of them ended up in my bag.

Over the last few weeks of my pregnancy I have been trying to spend as much time with Violet, doing activities which are mainly about her and her experience. We are not the kind of family to go to well organized events, we like a bit of autonomy and freedom. So, we went raspberry picking. I wasn't sure how many bushes violet was going to rampage through but, she was very well behaved and very much loved filling up er container. although she was a little shy to start, violet ended up directing us through the rows and showing the employees how many she had collected. If you are interested in going yourself check the dates on their website https://www.wyfarms.com.au

Happy Friday everyone! what has been happening in your gardens? Our summer crop is coming to an end and I have decided to gradually replant with seeds one small section at a time. However, with all the hot weather and wind we have had a small incident which took precedence. A large branch from the gumtree I planted snapped off. It really made me think about the dangers of gumtrees, particularly the breed that I planted. Honestly, it gave us more fire wood for winter and only took about 1/2 hour to clean and cut up. Still, something to be conscious about moving forward.

We went to Hammer Barn

I heard about the Bunnings event from a few other parents. I thought it was a sweet idea but wasn't to interested, until i saw exactly what Bunnings was doing. Face painting, giant Bluey's and Bingo's, garden gnomes, hats and bags. They seem to have really have thought it through.

They were only doing one Bunnings per state and our one was about a 1hr drive away. So we took off on a Sunday morning and arrived about 10ish. Dave wanted to get there at 7am when they opened but i thought he was nuts. By the time we got their it was chaos. You know the time just before little kids go down for a midday nap, its the witching hour of the morning. By 11am we had looked around the whole place and a lot of kids were starting to loose their minds, some parents too.

Not that I judge, i do believe that every parents is doing their best, but when I see grown adults making employees lives difficult I cant help but think why, why do they want to make everything more difficult.

Every employee at Bunnings that I spoke to I thanked as they were not receiving any extra for putting on the event, which I think was a little unfair, but that's business.

We were their for Violet and she had a blast, face painted, the play area kept her and her friend very much entertained, and the colouring in station was a hit. I got to use my gift vouchers I received for my birthday and I will discuss the seeds i got in anther post.

If you do get a chance this month go and check it out, but maybe go early or in the afternoon.
