We went to Hammer Barn
I heard about the Bunnings event from a few other parents. I thought it was a sweet idea but wasn't to interested, until i saw exactly what Bunnings was doing. Face painting, giant Bluey's and Bingo's, garden gnomes, hats and bags. They seem to have really have thought it through.
They were only doing one Bunnings per state and our one was about a 1hr drive away. So we took off on a Sunday morning and arrived about 10ish. Dave wanted to get there at 7am when they opened but i thought he was nuts. By the time we got their it was chaos. You know the time just before little kids go down for a midday nap, its the witching hour of the morning. By 11am we had looked around the whole place and a lot of kids were starting to loose their minds, some parents too.
Not that I judge, i do believe that every parents is doing their best, but when I see grown adults making employees lives difficult I cant help but think why, why do they want to make everything more difficult.
Every employee at Bunnings that I spoke to I thanked as they were not receiving any extra for putting on the event, which I think was a little unfair, but that's business.
We were their for Violet and she had a blast, face painted, the play area kept her and her friend very much entertained, and the colouring in station was a hit. I got to use my gift vouchers I received for my birthday and I will discuss the seeds i got in anther post.
If you do get a chance this month go and check it out, but maybe go early or in the afternoon.
