If you're struggling with your energy bills, there is a free service available in Vic to help you. The Energy Assistance Program is a free service funded by the Vic government and run by Anglicare Victoria. The team will be at Croydon Library next week 12 June 2.00pm-3.00pm:

I'll be presenting this workshop at Coonara Community House next week.
Come along if you're interested in learning some simple tips to be more energy efficient at home.
I'll also be discussing Victoria's clean economy skills transition and how you can become part of it e.g. by training as a Residential Efficiency Scorecard assessor. It's a rewarding and flexible job, great for parents and those wanting to work for themselves :)

Learn what the clean energy transition is and why we need it. This workshop will cover simple changes to lower energy consumption, choosing energy efficient products, accessing rebates and council programs.

Last wednesday, I had the pleasure of joining members of the Talking Cafe at Coonara Community House for a cuppa and chat about energy efficiency.
Talking Cafes are a fantastic initiative encouraging community connection - also a great way to build community resilience through knowledge sharing!

I love the discoveries and flow of discussion at these events - one resident shared their DIY method to cover evaporative cooling vents (reducing heat loss in winter) - another was delighted to know about heated throw rugs (a great low cost heating method, and fantastic when other members of your household don't want the heating on!).

Thankyou to Coonara for providing the space and CHAOS Inc Community Houses Association of the Outer Eastern Suburbs Inc for facilitating the Talking Cafe.
