SCOTTISH ARCHITECTURE: Woke up thinking of when I visited the Riverside Museum by Zaha Hadid. I love how the zigzag shape flows from the outside to the inside. I had never been to a museum that is so custom designed on the inside. Every single piece on display has a specific location and design around it. What an experience to visit this building. Not to mention the capturing of views and their reflection through the giant glazed facade.

Why did you become an architect?

I have always been passionate about people and what makes them happy and comfortable in the world. The intersection between craftsmanship and art, problem-solving skills and analytical thinking is what has made me choose architecture. I enjoy how diverse our profession is.

Reading recommendations?

Hum, I don’t read many books about renovating homes, but I often refer to The Architecture of Additions by Paul Spencer Byard. It is more of a technical book that explains the thinking behind alterations and additions on classic buildings to modern ones. The intersection between old and new architecture.

First place you'll travel when you can again?

I would go to Norway, Switzerland, and Denmark. I have never traveled to these countries, but have looked at their architecture and nature, especially the mountains, for inspiration and calm many times. I cannot wait to experience those places, understand how it feels beyond the screen and experience their cultures.

We're offering the chance to meet several architects, ask questions and chat in a relaxed and obligation-free environment.
