Exciting to create a garden in a small courtyard at Caritas Christi hospice. What was just an empty dark area outside the sitting area, is now a lush green and peaceful garden to view. Light and a mist spray from the ceiling add to the viewing particularly in the evening. A challenge for the team with limited access but they have brought it all together. Now for the plants to grow and fill the space.

Yakashima Island is such a wonderful place with amazing granite mountains with ancient cedar trees some 2,000 years old. Native deers and monkeys throughout the moss filled forest. Monkeys: Yaku-monkey deer: Yaku-deer Amazing hiking paths through Yakusugi land and Shiratani Unsuikyo Ravine. Mystical feeling throughout the forests.

Fun scenic train ride from Matsuyama to Yawatahama on the Iyonada Monogatari. Beautiful 3 carriage train with a 1920’s feel from the decor to the uniforms. Delicious food topped up with a sake tasting along the way. A much better way to travel on our way south than the Shinkansen.
