Such a fabulous session today at Mildura's newly established gardening for wellbeing group,as part of MH&W Local, run by

This 'Local' service is already doing amazing work and their new gardening group took off with such energy and positive feedback from participants.

In the last two photos you can see some before pics. The space is being transformed and I am excited to see it grow

Just when I wonder about the value and significance of what I do (because you know, that fun inner critic does it's thing) a participant will put time and intention into writing something truly meaningful. And that's all I hope for with this work, to make a small difference in someone else's experience.

So I am taking this opportunity to remind myself and celebrate when things go well 🩷

Dear Shani
I feel really lucky that my first horticulture class after arriving in Melbourne happened to be yours at CERES.
Thank you for all the genuine conversations about life, work, migration, and cuisine over these past weeks, and for all the moments of slowing down and paying attention to plants, birds, seasons, even spiders, and all the small living things around us. In a world that often feels fast and disconnected, those moments felt especially meaningful and inspiring to me.Β  wishing your Well Grown continues to grow well!
Thank you again

Yesterday was World Therapeutic Horticulture day and today I am wrapping up another round of Grounded, my longest running TH group

It's both a mission and a privilege to be able to make the magic of therapeutic horticulture available to my broader communities.

Every group is different. Every group has its own dynamics of different people coming together. Sometimes I find it easy to see the group forming relationships and changing as a cohort, and other times it's harder for me to gague the impact that our sessions have on individuals. But it still does.

Today was one of those moments, where a group that I wasn't sure I had a good grasp on this impact, expressed the significance of our weekly sessions, sharing with great vulnerability and honesty what this safe space has meant for them in the past couple of months.Β  And once again I am honoured and moved by their trust, as well as being proven once again what power therapeutic horticulture has, to affect change.

Also, look at these gorgeous gifts (!!!) I received from people who obviously learned a thing or two about me, as I have learned about them.

Thank you 🩷

Action shots and a felt cute might delete vibe πŸ˜…πŸ€

A few weeks ago I ran workshops at with and .

This is my second year doing it and I love it!!

Anywhooo, I just got these photos sent in and they are both lovely and embarrassing... but also rare, because I never get to have documentation of my work.
All I see is awkward (does anyone ever get pass that..) but hopefully what you can see is the passion I have for what I do and the joyful engagement of the participants (whose faces I hid for privacy, but they are smiling underneath those emojis)

As I'm winding down for some winter cosiness and rest, I'm also looking forward to when things pick back up and I get to share my love of therapeutic horticulture practice with more and more people πŸ’œ

Tomorrow night I will be hosting a foundational peer support session for associate members.

We will be discussing burning questions about how to get started, establishing a practice and a business in this field and finding the right path for you in the wide world of therapeutic horticulture.

If you're already a member, please sign up and join me. If not... well, this is a great time to start!
Associate members don't need any experience to sign up and enjoy membership benefits.

There's a link to the session in my bio, or follow tha.org.au to explore more

Today was all about soft fascination.

Soft fascination- an effortless form of attention.
A gentle way of focusing and engaging our mind.

Our brains respond innately to nature's soft stimulation. Colours, textures, scents and sounds that draw our natural curiosity and help disengage, even for a few moments, from active thinking and ruminations.

Colour was my soft fascination this morning as I was gathering plants around for today's therapeutic horticulture group πŸ’œ

Up until recently, I wouldn't have described myself as someone who has rituals.
I can barely sustain routines at the best of times!

But I'm slowly becoming aware of action that I repeat in a ritualistic sort of way. For better or for worse.

Gathering herbs for tea in the morning to start my groups is definitely one for the pros column.
It's a slow and grounded practice and has become something my participants look forward to.

Apple mint, mint, lemon balm and lemon verbena are some of my faves to calm the nervous system.
Some rosemary for the brain, and I'm ready to start the day

What are some of your faves?
