Exciting progress is taking shape at the Wurdi Baierr Aquatic and Recreation Centre, with construction now moving visibly forward on multiple fronts. Facade cladding is being installed across the facility, giving form and identity to the architecture. Tiling has commenced on the main pools, a major milestone that brings the aquatic spaces to life. Structural steel work is also nearing completion, setting the groundwork for the next phase of internal fit out. It is great to see this important community project advancing so strongly and getting closer to becoming a vibrant destination for health, wellness and connection.

Wurdi Baierr Aquatic and Recreation Centre is a partnership project, with stage one being funded by the Australian Government, the Victorian Government and Surf Coast Shire Council. Stage two is being fully funded by the Victorian Government.

Over the past six years, Peddle Thorp Melbourne have undertaken a large number of upgrades at Tullamarine’s , across all Terminals, domestic and international. Through inclusive design, quality detailing and a strong focus on traveller comfort, the upgrades have helped Melbourne Airport become the top ranked airport in Australia. The pace of construction is ramping up at this newest addition to the Ivanhoe skyline, with works now out of the ground and concrete and precast panel installation featuring heavily. Completion is expected mid-2023.

Spectacular views towards the City, Dandenong Ranges, Kinglake National Park and Mount Macedon, as well as beautiful garden settings, will make these apartments a pleasure to call home.

The facility will house, x4 multi-purpose courts, with spectator seating, athlete change rooms and amenities, community function and multi-purpose spaces.
