For all concerned customers regarding installation, repairs and servicing of thier garage doors during the next 6 weeks of the stage 4 lock down
Here is what we know we can do.
Any Construction of critical and essential infrastructure and services to a property where safety or security is concerned, this includes new installations for new buildings and or replacement of unsafe garage doors where safety or security is concerned.
Critical repairs to residential premises, are allowed, where required for emergency or safety.
Residential repair and maintenance by exception. Must meet emergency assistance requirements.
As you can see essentials repairs, service and maintenance to residential is permissible.
Given the above we will not be providing general services or attending sales enquiries during the lockdown period but will be providing breakdown or emergency repairs and maintenance when requested by clients.
In regards to door installations we do believe we are covered under the provisions above given the procedures we will have in place in regards to social distancing, PPE requirements etc etc and the non contact nature of the installation functions.
In addition we believe it does fall into the category of essential repairs and maintenance given the security issues apparent if there is no door installed.
What this means for our clients.
We are still available to attend to your emergency door issues for a safety and security concern however we can not attend for the general service until further notice.
We can however discuss over the phone and provide the best advise possible to assist in issues deemed to be under a general service call to site, ie, remote controls not working due to flat batteries or lost programming or simply noisey operations. All completed as a free over the phone service support.
For emergency calls to site we will ask for a photo of the issue to gauge the emergency, this will be provided to the authorities in the event we are stopped by police and used as evidence to show the nature of the work required is an emergency and safety or security are the concern.
As a note I would advise that the garage door exit is actually deemed to be one of the Fire escape exits that needs to be of a working order in the event of fire, the use of the door is critical and required to work safely and securely.
What constitutes an emergency call to site.
Residential clients./commercial clients.
Most if not All accidental damage caused by vehicle impact.
Jambed door in opening not closing fully to the ground.
Broken hinges, torsion cables and springs.
Any door or part that sees the door or its tracks and brackets detached from thier fixings.
Vandalism/break and enter.
Motor breakdown where the use of the door is affected for use in emergency exit.
Remember, we are available to our clients 24/7.
Our prices have been the same for the last 36months, there will be no rise in the call out fee unless it is before 730am or after 430pm Monday to Friday.
Weekend rates will apply as after-hours emergency calls only, as usual.
