These three mature Canary Island Date Palms (Phoenix canariensis) continue to thrive several years after being relocated as part of the Moreland Station Level Crossing Removal Project.
The Tree Company was engaged by John Holland to manage the relocation, nursery maintenance and eventual re-establishment of the palms while construction works were completed.
After approximately 15 months in our nursery, the palms were returned to site and replanted alongside the restored heritage station building.
It's great to see them looking so healthy and continuing to contribute to the character of the precinct today.
A fantastic outcome for John Holland, Merri-bek City Council, NWPA and everyone involved in the project.
