Most homes are designed from the inside out. This one wasn’t.
For landscape architect Lauren Anderson’s family home in Victoria’s Goulburn Valley, the garden came first. Climate, habitat, heritage and a deep connection to place informed the evolution of this 1940s Art Deco home, shaping not only the landscape but the architecture and interiors as well.
Anchored by a mature River Red Gum, the project blurs the boundary between house and garden, treating them as a single, continuous environment. Deeply attuned to season, weather and place the home embodies a shared commitment to craftsmanship and the strength of collaboration between designer and builder.
