Good bones, but the inside feels like it hasn't moved since the 90s. That's more common than most people think.

A lot of caravan owners are sitting on a van that's structurally sound but tired on the inside. And most of the time, what's making it feel that way isn't the layout or the size. It's the cabinetry. Old doors, worn finishes, storage that doesn't quite work for how you actually use the space.

The question we get asked most is whether you need to replace everything or just update parts of it. The honest answer is that it depends on what's underneath, and that's worth finding out before you commit to anything.

Sometimes a new set of doors and updated finishes is all it takes to make a van feel completely different. Other times there's a bit more to it. Either way, it's a conversation worth having early.

Most suppliers will tell you they can't do it. We'd rather sit down and work out if we can.

There's a certain type of job that gets turned away before it's even properly looked at. Anything outside a standard run, anything that needs a bit of thinking, gets put in the too hard basket.

Pundi has been a cabinetmaker and wood machinist for 46 years. That kind of background means when something unusual comes through, there's usually a way to approach it that isn't obvious from the outside. Not every job needs to be a standard order to be worth doing.

We recently worked through a bulkhead job with a manufacturer, something we don't run as a standard. We sat down, went through what was needed, and machined a solution that worked. That's the part of this work that still gets us out of bed.

Most caravan builders just accept that dealing with suppliers is a bit of a hassle. It doesn't have to be.

There's a version of a supplier relationship that most people in this industry have never had. One where the other side actually thinks about your workflow, not just their own. Where the handoff between their factory and your floor doesn't create a new problem to solve.

We've been working with caravan manufacturers across Victoria for 25 years. The ones who stay longest aren't always the biggest or the closest. They're the ones where the whole thing just runs smoothly, because we've taken the time to understand how they actually operate.

That looks different for everyone. For some it's turnaround time. For others it's after hours pickup, or orders that land ready to go straight to the floor.
