First post in a while 🙂
Did some painting on Norfolk Island, initially this was supposed to be a partially free form/freehand "sunset above and terror of the deep below."

But I ended up with a lot of bleeding and issues and the clouds look terrible, so it turned into experimenting with bleeding and blending colours together rather than doing the block colours I usually do.

How do people think it went? :)

Wow! We've passed 100 likes!! 😮

I'm going to be taking my painting supplies on holiday next month so there should be some more images up soon.
Would people like me to record a short video on how it all works?

And now that it's been gifted, here is the present I made for mum for Christmas.
Colours aren't fantastic (was quite hard to try to mix a good chestnut) and there was a lot of bleed at times (I think my lines were too thin) that really pi**ed me off, a couple quite bad, but I think it came out okay in the end.

**Now Taking Commissions**

If you are at all interested in commissioning something, please send me a message and we can work something out :D

Why should you want a silk piece rather than a cheaper, screen printed option?

For starters, silk is a much nicer, smoother 'canvas' to work on but one of the big reasons is deeper than that, literally. Printed items work like painting, you layer your image on top of the canvas. Unfortunately, this means that bits can be scraped off and if you leave it rolled up, or even in the wrong environment, the image will crack.
Silk painting on the other hand is actually done with dyes rather than paints. Have you ever seen the colour in a dyed shirt crack or break off? No? That's exactly the same with a silk piece.
You can literally scrunch it up in a ball, stuff it in a postpack and ship it to the other side of the world, lose it for six months under a book somewhere, and then unscrunch it, give it an iron and hey presto, the image is still all there.

Plus, if you want a banner-style piece, it will flutter majestically in even a slight breeze.
