This box window is nice and deep 🥰 The reason? To extend the room without extending the house. Working within a tight existing envelope, we wanted to create opportunities for sitting but didn’t want the space to feel overcrowded with furniture. Last Friday we handed over this little gem in Seddon 🥰 This home is about creating a warm and light-filled family space without extending the existing footprint. The old rear lean-to (usually the first to go!) was instead retained, reworked, and reclad, with a box window added for a space to sit and to create the illusion of space.
This was an absolute joy to work on from start to finish.

Had the pleasure of speaking alongside some amazing women at last week’s IWD breakfast.
Here are some pics :)
Sure, things can be challenging being a working woman in architecture… or any industry for that matter. But it was wonderful to talk about how we redefine what it means to practice, and choosing our own adventure in this crazy world. My key takeaway? Take agency to design your career, and design your life in a way that suits you, whatever that may look like.

Thanks fellow panelists Suzannah Waldron , Jean graham , and absolute badass Yolanda Vega for the raw and honest conversations, for being a fabulous MC, and the Vic Gender Equity committee for putting it all together 🥰
