It’s in the backyard.. come take a look.
A mix of old and few fences here.

Side entry gate was a sore point in my eyes with eco deck cladding in black and an unpainted frame. Before and after pics here show the continuity of the fence line into the gate with this in one singular colour. Note, the outside was left in black as it flowed into the neighbours side fence line in the same black colour. Details matter.

As for the rest, the rear fence wasn’t great, horrible cheap paint patchy and thin including the fence extensions. All colour wrapped around to the second wall return. Colour here is Monument, drying times slow with cold weather so paint here is wet in some photos.

Another duplex to round out the week. This time it’s a left side property. Front and rear boundary fences all in “Monument” to match house trim and complement gardens. Some tricky corners here where the fence meets the garage, the fencer left slithers of brick work there which was weird but still doable. Paint is wet in photos due to cold weather. Drying times are double and in some dark shaded areas, triple the norm at up to three hours for touch dry.

Beaumaris -

Full set of boundaries at this duplex. Front boundary fence, internal courtyard, rear yard fence with oversized extensions and retaining walls. Client requested to blend the inbuilt seat into the retaining walls for cleaner lines. This also included deleting the galvansied uprights for colour. Added a fresh coat of paint on the letterbox to complete and match the look.
Colour here is Monument.

Ivanhoe -

New 40x40 batten screen, this one acting as a privacy screen. Around 6m long but topping out 500mm over the boundary fence, neighbour requested colour , access granted, both sides painted.

The process -
Much like a picket fence, these need three visits.
Day 1, Deburr sand and fill.
Day 2, Filler sand and prime.
Day 3, Paint.

Some numbers-
I’ve done 60+ metres of batten screens at this address. Well over 5000 fixing holes and all painted on both sides so neighbours overhang view is attractive. At least 20 site visits to complete property.
Over 250 litres of paint for all screens, frames and boundary fences.

Rear yard screen is custom mix (manual formula) to match house windows. New privacy screen in Monument.

Single run side boundary for these three units.
Total length 46lm.
Lots of weeds, heavy mulch and lower plinth board / edge prep digging and scraping works needed here to expose the fence. Colour is Monument, paint still a little wet here in some photos with afternoon shade slowing drying times.

Boronia -

Revisiting this one after some possums decided to snap pickets off the frame. All pickets were re-screwed so each picket now has six screws rather than three. As for the painting, this means a process that is well, huge!

Limited to six hour days due to very cold weather, this took five days to complete. Works process as follows -
Deburr and sand off timber flare from new fixings. Fill 2000+ nail holes, Sand it all off, Reprime, check for filler slump (it slumped on 90% due to the cold weather), Refill all holes, Resand all filler, Reprime x 2 coats, 3x top coats in Monument.

Due the amount of sanding here, the inside also needed a single coat to clean up and cover sanding dust that discolours the paint to white inside frame plus primer excess from the front.

Photos here show the work involved. Massive job now closed.

Pre auction prep with 12m in Monument. Super slow drying times though with no sunlight here and a cold morning lingering for what seemed like an eternity. Oh and a handyman fixed the one broken pailing after I left.

Brighton East -

Just the boundaries on this one. A mix of previously painted fences and a new fence on the left side of the block. About 8m of lattice fence extensions with some trees to navigate, retaining walls and the small courtyard section when the clothesline is. All the fences are now cohesively one colour and older painted sections freshened up for neatness and to match new sections.
Colour here is Monument.
