Part of what we do are Pool Plans for council submission. Often its simply Complying Development, other times a Development Application.
Its always nice to see the final product at its finest.

With the construction industry under scrutiny since the Opal Tower faults in Sydney, everyone involved in the construction process has a role to play in making sure any construction complies with the NCC & other building code & regulations.

You can be sure that we use the best Private Certifiers, Town Planners & other consultants to make sure your addition, renovation or new build meets all codes & regulations.

Its only in my opinion that with Opal Tower, cheap labour and under qualified tradesmen / companies were used to get the highest profit margin for the developers.

Part of our job as Building Designers is to implement solar passive designs wherever possible. This applies to new builds and renovations.
This helps to keep cooling and heating costs to a minimum and makes your place more comfortable to live in all year round.

Pre-checks on a potential building / renovation site can give you an idea on some of the extra costs you may be up for. Flood and bushfire zones, heritage listed areas and land zoning are just some details that are good to know before going ahead with a Development Application or Complying Development.

Its important (and required) that if you build or renovate in a designated bushfire prone area that your build is compliant with Planning for Bush Fire Protection 2006 and AS3959 – 2009.

So currently there is another job in the pipeline to help out the local communities at Beka Beka, Solomon Islands
The plans have been drawn and sent away.
Maybe ill stay at this place while I go and check it out. Who's in?

Its not often I get to see the work Ive done. A few months ago I was working on a lunch area for a school in the jungle of the Soloman Islands. The locals did most of the work putting it up, they crafted the floor from nearby timber and carried it all up the hill from the barge delivering it.
I hope all the kids can enjoy it as much as I did drawing it up.

Using stone cladding can make a huge difference to your energy costs.
It looks beautiful and has the benefit of insulating you from the heat and cold.
This will be my go to for my own renovation (next time).
