I use two types of gypsum when doing my garden.
This is the granular gypsum which feels like sand. Gypsum products vary on activation and can work straight away and last for a year. The liquid gypsum, has very similar results.
I don't worry about the nutrients that may get washed away as the gypsum works because I'm always topping up the mulch and liquid fertiliser.
Looking at the Dentist garden and my other gardens, they seem to be happy and healthy therefore I'll continue to do my usual method.
If you are in doubt always ask a garden centre or a competent gardener for help.

This is where your future problems are able to hide.
Concrete paths and driveways usually house problems especially when you get down and have a look.
The couch grass is very healthy despite being under concrete. If I don't get it out and use a root barrier, this couch grass will soon once again take over the garden.
How many landscapers know about this hidden problem? I've been to a few gardens where this corner was cut costing thousands of dollars in damage.

Quick tip.
If you are going to be cold and wet outside, enjoy it.
I wear a t-shirt and pants and work until I have to stop, then go home. Bring a change of clothes so you get warm quickly.
I don't get cold often and your body heat keeps you warm.
Common sense applies.

Today as I strolled through the wholesale nursery, I came across something just a little bit different.
This is Buttonbush rose grown by Proteaflora and is from the Western Cape in South Africa.
It grows 1.5mΒ² and loves the full sun. The flowers are what caught my eye on this plant.
If you are interested in this plant and want to purchase it, you can contact me or Proteaflora on 03 7018 2323
