…a top Australian performer with our Highlands Music Collective quartet. Exciting evening ahead. ! This Friday. Look for tickets link in post. )
In 2014, Nick Russoniello - Saxophonist won the prestigious Fine Music 107.5 'Kruger Award' worth $10,000. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ He used his prize to record and tour his debut album 'Between Worlds' with the Acacia Quartet, of which our local violinist, Myee Clohessy, was a member for twelve years.
In 2015, Myee became the artistic director of the Bowral Autumn Music Festival, and Nick was among the first soloists she invited to perform at the festival.
Ten years later, Myee is now the artistic director of the Highlands Music Collective, and she has once again invited this extraordinary saxophonist to perform alongside some of the region's finest string players: violinist Kate Malone, violist Rachel Miller, and cellist Catherine Barnett for an exciting concert at the Bowral Memorial Hall titled 'Blue is the Air'.
The concert will begin with the calming sounds of 'Blue Silence' for string quartet by Australia's much-loved composer Elena Kats-Chernin.
The program's centrepiece will be Nick Russoniello's own composition 'Air Mass' for three saxophones (baritone, alto, and soprano), layered and woven with percussive sounds and loop pedals.
This will be followed by seven delightful miniatures selected from the whimsical 'Children's Songs' by musical genius Chick Corea arranged beautifully for saxophone and string quartet.
Don't miss this exciting opportunity to hear one of Australia's top performers at Bowral Memorial Hall this Friday, 23 May, at 6:30 pm. Doors open at 5.45 pm for complimentary wine and nibbles!
Only 10 tickets are still available, but hurry to avoid missing out.
