It’s happening!!!! 🌸
We’re officially returning to the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show 2026.
Last year we were invited to deliver an informative display of garden-grown dahlias and public education — and the response completely blew us away. The stories, the conversations, the connection… it was a resounding success. What it proved is that dahlias aren’t just “back in town” — they’re here to stay.
And this year… we’ve been invited back. Amazing!
For 2026, we’ll be creating a larger, floral-first dahlia installation inside the Royal Exhibition Building. The concept centres on something we heard again and again last year — the memories people associate with dahlias.
Parents. Grandparents. A neighbour’s garden. A childhood moment.
We know so many of you will resonate with that too.
The installation will evolve across the week. Visitors will be invited to write their dahlia memories and hang them within the structure. Children will colour in dahlia illustrations and add theirs too. By the end of the Show, it becomes a living record of how people connect to this remarkable flower.
And if that’s not WOW enough — the main stage is locked in!

🌸 Dahlias: From Tuber to Bloom
Whether you’re planting your very first tuber or looking to improve your results, this practical session for home gardeners will guide you step-by-step from tuber to bloom — covering soil, sunlight, feeding, pests and picking — helping you grow dahlias successfully and create a few memories of your own.
Now you know why we were asking for your input recently!
Now here’s where you come in.
We’d love to involve growers of all levels — because that mix of experience resonated so strongly with the public last year.
There are several ways you could be involved:
• Remote input to help shape the main stage content — key themes, common questions, simple, clear advice
• On-site help during install or a mid-week refresh
• Spending a few hours at the display engaging with visitors (the Show runs Wed 25 – Sun 29, 10am–6pm most days). Last year we consistently had 20–30 people at the stall at any one time asking questions. Whilst not a commercial stall, it’s a fantastic way for farms to connect personally with garden growers.
• For those comfortable presenting — joining Jamie on the main stage
• Bloom donations — to keep the display popping each day we’ll need fresh flowers. Our farm is 3 hours away, so daily refresh isn’t viable. If you’re a farm or home gardener willing to donate blooms, we’d love to hear from you.
There’s no expectation to commit to everything. Involvement can be as light or hands-on as suits you.
If this feels like something you’d enjoy being part of, we’d genuinely love to hear from you.
Finally — thank you to KSG Fuels, Home Hardware Numurkah, Highland Dahlias, those already working with us on this project, and of course MIFGS for entrusting “the boys” with delivering this concept.
Small farm. Big dreams. MIFGS 2026.
