Retreat Gardens:

Calming and peaceful havens, these gardens are thoughtfully designed to offer respite from the busyness of everyday life. They invite you to slow down, ground yourself, and simply be. Breathe in the fresh air, listen to the gentle birdsong and the soft, distant trickle of water, and allow a sense of stillness to settle over you.

Whether you choose to reflect with a book of positive affirmations, write in your journal, or quietly sip a cup of home-brewed herbal tea, these tranquil spaces encourage moments of restoration, clarity, and tranquility.

Memorial Gardens:
Gardens created in memory of a loved one offer a living tribute, an intimate sanctuary for reflection, remembrance, and quiet healing. These spaces invite moments of stillness, where memories can be gently revisited and honoured. Simple rituals, such as gathering flowers like forget-me-nots and lavender, become meaningful acts of connection and remembrance. Thoughtfully placed mirrors encourage reflection, while carefully selected plantings allow you to experience the natural rhythms of changing colours throughout the seasons.

Testimony:
“This is where she wanted to be, scattered amongst the roses and the daffodils. I always pause here in the garden to remember her and cherish all the beautiful memories she gave me.”

Aged Care Gardens

Reflections & Testimonal from our portfolio project

Reflection:
We deeply believe in the powerful impact of thoughtfully designed green spaces on the wellbeing of aged care residents. The benefits are far-reaching, with positive outcomes that we have experienced first hand. For some, this may mean growing scented flowers to gather and enjoy indoors; for others, cultivating a small patch of vegetables and herbs. It may be as simple as a comfortable place to sit and reflect during times of recovery or through times of grief, a rose garden created in honor of a loved one, or a sensory space that reconnects people with nature through sight, sound, smell, touch and taste, or an art therapy workshop in mosaics. It is truly a privilege to create and care for gardens that bring comfort, purpose, and joy to such kind and inspiring individuals.

Testimonial
“When I came home from the hospital, seeing the garden did more for my mental and physical health than all the pain medication. On the days I am unwell I spend the day between the bed and chair and looking out at the beautiful gardenias, which lifts my spirit”.

Our new portfolio project “The Gardened Soul” is now on our website.

Therapeutic gardens, guided by an artistic approach, sit at the heart of our design ethos. Every outdoor space is carefully considered to create gardens that are unique, imaginative, and truly distinctive. These interactive, emotive environments offer profound healing benefits by fostering a deeper connection to nature, supporting cognitive health, relieving stress, and enhancing mood, self-esteem, and meaningful social connections.

Whether it is a safe and engaging space for aged care residents, an edible or medicinal garden that supports nutritional wellbeing, a calming retreat for mental and physical restoration, a memorial garden honouring a loved one, a playful sensory garden that awakens sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch, or an ecological community garden that encourages sustainability and biodiversity, we work closely with you to bring your personal garden vision to life.

We are privileged to have designed, curated, and cared for a diverse range of gardens across aged care settings, private residences, kindergartens, and schools. On the following pages, you will view beautiful imagery, reflections, and testimonals, offering insight into the powerful impact therapeutic gardens have had on people’s well-being.

To the wonderful people who so generously shared their deeply personal stories, thank you. You are all truly inspirational, and it has been an honour to be part of your journey. Each of you holds a very special place in our hearts.

Dichondra repens our favorite alternative lawn!
Dichondra repens is an excellent, low-maintenance, native alternative to traditional grass lawns, featuring soft, kidney-shaped leaves that form a dense green mat. Ideal for low-traffic areas, shady spots, and small courtyards, it thrives without mowing, and it can tolerate light foot traffic. From our ongoing garden maintenance Heathmont project.
