Alex will be raising money for the Cancer Council

Participating in my very first Cancer Council Longest Day. This will be 4 rounds of 18 holes taking place early December. I'll be joining a group of local lads who have done this for past few years and aiming to help raise money for Skin Cancer research.

Some of you may know and some may not know. But I have been diagnosed with skin cancer. I had 2 Melanoma's removed in 2020. Which was quite confronting. I was lucky enough to have them both successfully removed with no further treatment for the Melanoma's. But I required a full body skin check once every 12 weeks for 12 months. Once I clesree that, it was 1 check every 6 months for 12 months. Which works perfectly. As I had my last 6 month check up 2 weeks ago and given the all clear.

BUT I still require a full body skin check once a year. This is a timely reminder for everyone to get a skin check. I went to have another skin spot check which turned out to be another form of skin cancer but my Dr found the 2 Melanoma's. Go and see a specialist.

Moree is among the towns that NSW Health believes a potentially infectious COVID-19 patient has visited.

⚠️ MOREE COVID-19 INFORMATION, UPDATED JUNE 10 at 5:20PM⚠️

New South Wales Health has issued alerts for several venues in Moree and Goondiwindi after a woman travelled through while potentially infectious with COVID-19.

It's advised anyone who attended the following venues at the times listed to immediately get tested and isolate until they receive more information:
📍 Assef’s Clothing Store, 139-143 Balo Street, June 3 from 3-3:30pm
📍 Coonabarabran, Coles Express, 2-6 John Street, June 3, 11am – 12pm
📍 Gwydir Caravan Park/Motel & Thermal Pools, 4 Amaroo Drive, from June 3 at 1:45pm to June 5 at 7:30am
📍 Cafe Omega, 145 Balo Street, between June 3 between 1:30pm-4:30pm; June 4, 7am-9:30am and 11:50am-2pm
📍 Woolworths Moree, 215 Balo Street, June 3, between 3:30pm-4:30pm
📍 Amaroo Tavern, Amaroo Drive, June 4 from 4:30pm-11pm

😷 WHAT DO I DO AFTER MY TEST:
You must go straight home and self-isolate until you receive your result.

👉 If the test is positive:
Your doctor or the public health unit will provide you with advice.
The local public health unit will also contact you to interview you and identify your close contacts. The guidelines for people who have confirmed COVID-19 infection apply.

👉 If the test is negative:
You must continue to follow the relevant guidelines for self-isolation and remain in isolation for 14 full days if you are a person who is a close contact of another person with COVID-19 or has been advised by the Public Health Unit to remain in isolation.

⚠️ PUBLIC HEALTH ALERT ⚠️

NSW Health has been advised by Queensland Health that a confirmed case of COVID-19 travelled through regional NSW while potentially infectious from 1 June to 5 June.

The case drove from Melbourne to the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, stopping at places in Gillenbah, Forbes, Dubbo and Moree and signed into several venues using QR codes.

Anyone who attended the following venues at the times listed must immediately get tested and isolate until you receive further information from NSW Health:

- Gillenbah, Caltex Narrandera, 1 Newell Highway: Tuesday 1 June, 10.30 am to 11.00am

- Forbes, Vandenberg Hotel, 7 Court Street: Tuesday 1 June, 6.00pm to 10.00pm

NSW Health is continuing to investigate the movements of this case in regional New South Wales, and this list of venues may be updated.

Anyone who lives in or has visited these areas since 1 June, is asked to be especially vigilant for the onset of even the mildest of cold-like symptoms, and is urged to come forward for testing immediately if they appear, then isolate until a negative result is received.

We just completed the repainting to the exterior of Assef's department store Moree.
Thanks Daniel and the Assef family for allowing us to be involved in this project.

Over 80 years ago John Assef purchased a burnt out block in the middle of the Moree Main Street.

By 1940 he had completed the construction of the Assef’s store. For 81 years the Assef family have lived and worked in this building selling clothing.

Thanks Wayne Tucker and crew for the recent facelift
