If your onions start to sprout, make new ones. Very carefully peel back the skin, keep on peeling until you reach the stem being careful not to remove the root parts. Plant it in your garden, leaving the green parts above the soil. Several new onions will grow from the base. You can use the onion parts that you peeled away. Onions love the company of silverbeet, lettuces, other leafy greens and carrots in the garden bed, but keep them away from peas beans and legumes. Happy gardening everyone!

So nice to capture 2 types of tiny critters sharing my dill flowers. Dill is incredibly easy to grow especially during the winter months. There is a hover fly in the picture, and from what I'm told, the tiny ones are baby ladybugs (only about 2mm long).

Well I just think it's a whole lot of rhubarb .. left the glove in the picture so you get an idea of the size. Super easy to grow and so many uses. Just don't eat the leaves, they are poisonous. Now.. rhubarb wine or apple and rhubarb crumble 🤔

Hi folks, I hope you are all staying safe. With the bushfires, there's a possibility that our fresh food prices may increase. I am happy to send you some free seeds of tomato, zucchini, silverbeet, sugar snap peas and lettuce if you pm message me your details (nominate which, or all you would like). In return, would really appreciate it if you could make a small donation to your nominated charity with respect to the bushfires (if you haven't already done so). Stay safe and look after each other.

Australian Native gardens have been increasing in popularity since the 1950s. The early settlers brought plants with them that reminded them of home, and many of our indigenous plants were removed in favour of these. Thankfully this trend is reversing, and a native garden will attract our native birds and bees, as well as being hardy, well suited to their environment, and frankly, stunning. You will be doing your part for conservation of our native wildlife by including some of these incredibly beautiful collections in your garden.

A successful native garden is one where you've looked at your conditions and found plants to suit, not vice versa. Check out these tips before heading to the nursery.

This looks a lot like asparagus except for the flower at the top. It's actually the flower of a dwarf aloe. First time this has ever flowered, and I've had these for many years.
