Better than full demolition…just! Retention is at least a nod to the sites history but still a sad sight to see this lon...

Better than full demolition…just! Retention is at least a nod to the sites history but still a sad sight to see this lonely structure, steeped in history, which is about to be dwarfed by 90m towers. No other structures were deemed worthy to be retained that would have given this tower some real context.

Bit of a heritage curly one today….site visit to a former 1880s police station with original jail cells which are still intact! However the site is now owned by the Aboriginal Land Council & the presence of the cells are causing distress. Pondering the best way forward….

Site inspection of this heritage listed building today to find an impressive collection of swallows nests. They surprisingly shouldn’t really cause much damage to the building other than possible staining of the brickwork and bird p**p below. The removal method will be important. All deterrent measures have so far clearly failed.
