Home, Again

Laura Bishop

In this body of work, Laura explores interior space, the intersection of domestic textiles and architecture, the home and the house. Responding to the paradoxical nature of home as both a deeply felt human experience and a fragile construct of civilisation, Laura uses a palette of luxurious silk and velvet, brass and raw concrete to consider the power of personal memory and the routines, rituals, social interactions and objects that signify home and tie us to place.

From tiny fragile sculptures, to large scale installation pieces, this work in this exhibition reveals the meaning and memories embodies in the very fabric of the home.

Opening: Wednesday 16th April, 5-7pm

On show: 16 April – 2 May @ Shaddock Architects
