Industrial Change of Use | Sandgate

We recently assisted PacPlanning with measured drawings and drafting services for an industrial change of use application in Sandgate.

We love collaborating with planning partners to provide clear, accurate documentation for a wide range of projects, letting us focus on providing:

• Existing building measured drawings
• Concept designs for PDA planning
• Development application designs
• Construction plans

We’re proud to support planning consultants, developers, and project teams with reliable drafting services from concept through to approval and construction.

Swansea - Alterations & Additions

Excited to share concept images for a Mediterranean-inspired renovation of this Swansea home.

Our brief was to create a formal entry, improve the flow of the living spaces, design a master suite complete with ensuite and robe, and introduce an additional living area that opens out to a private, resort-style retreat at the rear.

We’ve got some exciting news to share!

#1 We’ve secured a new commercial space dedicated to our growing Hunter team. We’ll be sharing updates over the coming weeks as the fit-out progresses.

#2 Our website has been refreshed and relaunched! You’ll find updated staff bios, project examples, enquiry information, and a few milestones—including over 3,500 projects completed. There are still a couple of details to come (like our new office location), but feel free to jump on and have a look around.

Plenty more to come—stay tuned.

Shortland - Alterations & Additions

It’s been a busy start to the year, working across renovations, unit designs, and commercial developments.

We recently visited this beautiful little home in Shortland, where we provided some initial concept designs for extensions to support a growing young family. Always rewarding to help shape spaces that evolve with the people living in them.

Meet The Team - Craig Drever

Craig has been a key part of D&C Projects since its establishment in 2009, leading the practice as Director and helping shape its design-led, people-focused team approach. Craig is a Registered Building Design Practitioner and a Chartered member of the BDAA with a background rooted in a passion for designing great buildings, Craig now finds the greatest value in working collaboratively with like-minded people to deliver thoughtful, high-quality outcomes.

Craig brings a strong client-focused mindset to every project, with a genuine ability to listen, clearly understand requirements, and apply the drive and focus needed to deliver considered design solutions within tight timeframes. Maintaining project momentum while preserving design intent is central to his approach.

Rather than highlighting individual achievements, Craig is most proud of the collective work delivered by the D&C Projects team, reflecting his belief that strong results come from strong collaboration. He is known for thriving in high-pressure environments and is regarded by colleagues as driven, direct, and outcome-focused.

Outside of work, Craig enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, who are his greatest priority. Weekends are often reserved for catching up with friends and family over good food and drinks, providing a balance he considers essential.

Craig is also committed to supporting the wider community, having contributed design assistance to community-based organisations over the years. Looking ahead, he is motivated by building the strongest possible drafting and design team in Northern NSW — a group of professionals who are eager to learn, committed to doing their best, and proud of what they deliver together.

Meet The Team - David Northey

David is a Senior Designer & the Hunter Operations Manager; with a strong background in architecture and project delivery, bringing a thoughtful, solution-focused approach to every stage of the design process. With a hands-on role across residential, affordable housing, commercial and community based projects, he is highly experienced in navigating design development, consultant coordination, and council approvals to achieve positive outcomes for clients.

Driven by a genuine care for the work he produces, David is known for his diligence, attention to detail, and willingness to go the extra mile to ensure projects are resolved to a high standard. He takes particular pride in seeing ideas move from drawings to built form, finding motivation in tangible results and the impact architecture has on the communities it serves.

Colleagues describe David as eager, thoughtful, and ever-present — someone who is always ready to help and bring positive energy to the team. His technical mindset and growing expertise in approvals and negotiation allow him to push projects that extra step, even when faced with complex planning challenges.

Outside of work, David’s interests span in extremes from the great outdoors to gaming. Whether he’s camping, travelling, sim-racing, or deep into a TV series, he brings curiosity and enthusiasm to everything he does. Currently working toward completing his Master of Architecture, David is focused on continuing his professional development with the goal of becoming a registered architect, contributing meaningfully to the evolving built environment of NSW and beyond.
