I have come to the painful decision not to open for business this summer. After a winter with no rain much and some heavy very late frosts the nursery that I take such pride in is looking awful. My greenhouse was destroyed in the terrible winds lately and I am struggling to keep water up to everything. I feel like the universe is telling me not this year. All being well - I will be opening for business next summer when I will have plants I can once again be proud to sell to my customers.

Wow. What a fantastic Summer.
Gardeners Nook has been honoured with a mass of new gardeners taking advantage of the great prices of the plants here. Our new friends have bought a whole new dimension to my little business. I value my gardeners from years gone by - more than words can express and our new friends have meant that I can talk (endlessly) about plants and the garden all summer. And has inspired me to make my cuttings for next season (almost done woo hoo). I am having carpel tunnel surgery on the 31st of March so will be out of action for a few weeks - hence the mad rush.
So Gardeners Nook will be closed from the 31st of March until next season.

I really want to thank all the gardeners who have visited me this Summer and to let you know I will be posting on Gardeners Nook f/b over the next few months with tips on what to do come early Spring. Until then happy gardening.

So we are off to Dalgety Show on Sunday. So many roses to offer not to mention Buhdlias Salvias and a variety of plants sure to make a beautiful statement in your garden this Autumn. We will be just inside the main gate- so excited to see all our dear garden lovers there. Come and have a look at Gardener's Nook.

Phase 2 of my colour wave garden went in this week. Yes the pink and the purple stage. It looks a bit straggly yet. All the plants have been waiting in their pots for the last eighteen months so really need some lovely warm weather for the next few months to get them going. They were planted on the hottest day this year and I felt so bad for the wonderful Chris from Bidgee garden and home maintenance for all her hard work in some very difficult conditions. I am unable to do it myself as I am awaiting back surgery and am banned from that sort of work for a while. The next phase will be the oranges/yellows then the reds and then it will be the wait until next Spring/Summer to see the fruits of Alison's and Chris's labour. So excited for then can't wait.

So after mentioning my project yesterday I thought I would show a few pictures of what I have in mind. My white section is mostly planted out but is definately in its infancy. Watch this space next year to see how much its changed. The other photos show the rest of the plants patiently waiting to be planted our and also the remaining space for my colour wave. Hopefully this is inspiring for others and doesn't end up a hot mess. I will post updated photos when everything else goes in. Until then Happy Planting.

So gardeners - how are your Autumn planting plans going. I have a very small patch that I am using for a garden. I am making a colour wave starting with white then pink then purple - next are yellows and oranges and finally reds. Lucky for me I have managed to propagate most of what I am using . I did buy a pink/purple a red and a really pretty pink hydrangea . They are all great to have though because I can make beautiful babies from them. My nursery has grown and looks great this year with a mixed bag of sales. I am off to Dalgety show this year with as many plants as 3 trailers can carry so I hope to see a lot of our lovely gardening friends out there. Not forgetting we are open at Numeralla every day between 9 and 3
10 warrens Corner Road so a visit is always welcome.
