It's amazing how a well thought out extension & renovation can transform a home. From a very basic traditional home in Lewisham to a beautiful beachfront property. I wanted the extension to blend seamlessly into the existing building form but take advantage of the natural light & views to the waterfront & Mount Wellington. The deck will have an automated opening louvre roof to enable the deck to be a usable extension of the living areas throughout the seasons. Now to start on the construction plans. As John 'Hannibal' Smith from The A Team said......."I love it when a plan comes together!" ha-ha

The final rendering has just been completed for this new house I've been working on recently. This home will be built in Howrah overlooking the Derwent River & Mount Wellington. All ground floor external walls have been stepped out or recessed to create depth & shadow play with the upper floors cantilevering over the ground floor throughout. Another John Weston Architectural Design Pty Ltd & Jordyn Properties Pty Ltd project. A big thank you goes out to civil engineer Chris Fysh of Fysh Design for the detailed driveway / access design on what is a very difficult site. Another modern midcentury inspired family home.

Another house design is slowly coming together. The exterior will be a combination of vertical cement sheet, feature brickwork and Tasmanian Oak horizontal cladding (whites, light greys and natural warm timber). Full height floor to ceiling windows will take advantage of the views to the river and mountain. This is the more private street view. Full renderings to come very soon.

Another busy week done and dusted. Currently finalizing an exciting house design to be built in Howrah overlooking the river. 3D renderings to come soon. Other design work covers the whole of the state. From Wynyard, Devonport, Launceston, Kingston and Dolphin Sands. It's getting very busy!

Time sure does fly. It's 18 years today since I started out on my own and become self-employed. As with all businesses it's been a hard slog, but it has also been very rewarding. I can honestly say I've given my all. Hopefully some more successful years ahead. Thank you to my regular consultants & builders that help to make every project a success. Thank you to my wonderful past & present clients, many that are now great friends. It's not all about the awards but I'm proud of my work listed below that has been nationally recognized.

Final renderings just completed for a new design project in South Hobart. A classic midcentury modern inspired new home on a very steep & challenging block of land at the base of Mt Wellington. I couldn't be happier with how nicely it's come together. Another joint project with Jordyn Properties Pty Ltd. Hopefully another future award winner!
