Queue Vivaldis Four Seasons!
How utterly vibrant has this Autumn’s deciduous colour been? The canopy on this Japanese Maple seems to have become brighter for the rain earlier in the week when other trees became bare.

The view from this house high on a hill near Canowindra was to die for. One of the the joys of the job is to see the countryside from all angles and . With minimal on-site water brought with it very thorough selection. Drought and wind tolerant species were critical with cold hardy natives dominating the proposed planting list (see attached FYI).

Paper Bush or Edgeworthia is not something you see here in the NSW Tablelands very often but I’m a bit in awe. A deciduous shrub native of China, it could be confused with a Daphne as they are all out in bloom competing for your attention right now. It’s slow growing and a bit fussy about microclimate, but worth nurturing to its eventual 1.5m mature height.
