WHY DO I HAVE MOULD IN MY HOME??
If you don’t know the cause of mould being in the home, how do you know it’s not coming back??
Something we’re finding out a lot of lately is the real need to address the cause of mould being in the home!!🏘️
Being actively involved in the construction industry for over 25+ years, this question is a doozy!
See homes are normally designed around being dry, moisture free spaces, this is why extraction fans are commonly installed in areas such as bathrooms and laundries, designed to extract moisture in the air and transport it out of the home, not just into the ceiling space but transporting it OUTSIDE THE HOME where possible.🧐🧐
You see, mould LOVES dusty/dirty areas, providing a food source, mould also loves moisture, like most things on this planet it needs water to grow, the more water the more it thrives. 💦💦
This might be why you’re seeing a lot of it around lately!
The other thing mould loves, is dark, undisturbed places, as mould hates sunlight & dry spaces, this is why you’ll often see mould forming on the southern side of buildings and areas that don’t receive sunlight.☀️
Should all 3 of these elements be present, then there’s a potential that mould could form & take hold.
All of this is why for us here at Legacy Homes and Mould Removal, during our free assessment, we not only look at the aspect of mould that’s present on surfaces or more importantly that’s airborne and unseen,
but why is it there?
How did it get there?🧐
What’s been the contributing factor(s) to it now being in the home?🏠
Design and functionality of the home itself?
These all play a huge role in not only addressing issues of mould already within the home, but form contributing factors for our recommendations for treatments to testing to creating daily habits to help minimise, mitigate and prevent mould within the home, both now and for in the future.🏡
Addressing the cause to is a fundamental part in both treating mould and preventing it from returning, from leaks, ventilation, outside elements, through to building design and lifestyle habits, our assessments cover it all.
For further information or enquires related to testing or treating of mould or to discuss having a free assessment done for peace of mind.🙏
