I’ll be very happy if I manage to flower this one, but multiplication is the goal.

Pterostylis curta. Repotting. These dried out too much over summer so they are not as strong as I would like.

I’m often asked about the seed that lands on the side on the flask: this clump is 5cm above the media surface. When the protocorm in big enough, a tap on the desk will help it fall down onto the rest of the batch.
This photo, though not clear, shows how much seed in this batch is viable. The ones that are green are germinating. The rest are either dormant or not viable. They may germinate next year.

Early signs… a green tinge.
This is Den. spec ‘Fort Knox’ x ‘Patroclus’
What is interesting with this is that the seed was 9 months old when I sowed it the second time. (The first sow was contaminated.) I did not keep the seed in the freezer or fridge - just in paper envelope.

Some first-attempts at Diuris and Pterostylis this season. The last time I sowed Diuris, they took a year to germinate!
