Who needs a gym membership when you’re loading scaffold? 😅

I actually love this part of the job. Give me a pile of scaffold and a tricky setup and I’m happy as can be. It’s like a giant puzzle that needs solving before the painting even begins.

A few early starts, a bit of heavy lifting, and a lot of problem-solving behind the scenes, but that’s all part of getting the job done right.

Now the scaffold’s up, it’s time to get stuck into the fun part!

One of my favourite parts of the job is helping clients feel confident in their colour choices. 🎨

When I first visited this home, the client had their heart set on a beautiful green bathroom. By the time I came back to quote, they were second-guessing themselves and thinking about playing it safe with white.

So I put together a few colour mock-ups using ChatGPT to help them visualise the space before making a final decision. Once they could actually see the options, their confidence came back, and they chose the green they originally loved! 💚

The final colour? Sussex by Taubmans, paired with my trusty Wattyl paint system as usual.

While I was there, I also gave the patio doors a much-needed refresh, bringing them back to life and protecting them from the elements.

Sometimes all it takes is seeing the vision come to life before taking the leap.

Meet my new apprentice… Daisy 🐾💜

I’m looking after a friend’s 15-month-old for the next 5 weeks, so she’ll be tagging along to work with me. Naturally, she needed her own uniform 😂

Honestly… I don’t think I’ve ever had a cuter workmate. She’s already taken her supervising role very seriously and has mastered following me everywhere I go.

Meet my two apprentices 🤗🐾

One sleeps on the job and somehow still ends up covered in paint… and the other has been an absolute godsend. Having Nellie around has helped me get ahead on projects, made the days more enjoyable, and it’s been so good watching her grow in confidence along the way.

As a little thank you, I put together a small tool bag with some decent gear to help get her started in her painting career 🎨

I genuinely love helping other women carve their own paths in the trades. There’s room for us here, and it’s pretty special being able to pass on what I’ve learned along the way.

Good luck in the future Nellie, you’ll smash it 💛

This space went through a huge change, including removing the original window and installing double doors to completely open the room up and bring in so much more natural light.

Combined with the green panelling, custom shelving and soft styling touches, the whole room now feels warm, inviting and full of personality 💚
