Hey Facebook, happy Friday night! I've been working on creating some sample moulds for one of my upcoming Workshops being held at Rustic Farmhouse Charm .
Quick Heads Up: I sent out an email with the two Workshop details. If you’re on my list and haven't seen it, please check your junk or spam folders— unfortunately they love to hide in there! 🕵️‍♀️
I'm planning on starting working back on some unfinished projects,(there a lot of them so not sure which one first) it's been a minute since I've done much of anything including furniture so I'm thinking I've put it off long enough, I'll be sure to show you all how it goes, fingers crossed 🤞 I remember what I'm doing and don't stuff it up 🙏🫣

I added brown wax with a brush then added clear wax to remove most of it. I then wiped it off with a clean cloth. If you want more of the dark wax to stay on then apply it with a cloth not a brush, the brush gets into all the wood and paint imperfections. Allow the wax to dry completely and then buff to a beautiful protective finish.

Happy Sunday Facebook! So a longggggg time ago I used to decorate for Halloween 👻 but then I started putting up my Christmas decorations early- like before the end of October. Ever since then my Halloween decor had been packed into old suitcases and stored in my hubby's shed never to see the outside again so a few years ago I made the tough decision to sell it all because I had to finally admit to myself that I could no longer do both. It was a sad day 😞 I had some really fabulous pieces.
Anyway, last year I came across this Halloween book and even though I no longer decorate for it I kept on looking at it and thought it would make a fabulous Christmas book! 🤔💡
I know, some of the things that pop into my head, I really don't know where they come from.
So this weekend I've been busy finishing off some upcoming Workshop projects and I had some air dry clay out so I thought - why not tackle the Halloween book? So my idea was to make the creepy green witches hands into Santa's Hands 🎅👐 I had to use almost a whole packet of air dry clay. Now it's not perfect because I had to cover the original green fingers and as you can see from the photos there's still some green poking out ( I can't cut it off, it will break the book) but once I'm finished you won't notice this much at all. I just thought you'd like to see what I'm currently working on. They will take a long time to dry because of the thickness of the clay and I don't want to speed it up with a heat gun because that will cause the clay to shrink and crack. I'm going to paint the hands an off white colour so they will look like Santa's gloves and I'm going to make the book into a " Night before Christmas book" let me know what you think, can you picture it in your head?am I crazy?

FYI- If you're in my email list keep an eye out for one later today regarding upcoming Workshops

Happy long weekend everyone! So I spent most of yesterday on the kitchen table. I wasn't sure on using the roller, I think the area isn't big enough for such a large pattern so I thought I'd stamp it. Before doing this I decided to apply a light top coat so that if I hated it, it wouId make it easier to take off ( I'm so happy I did this) I used a water soluble stamp pad so that again I could wipe it off as I went anywhere I made mistakes. I love stamps and have quite a few,( but really never enough! ) I thought a floral pattern would be nice, I had done more than half and I still wasn't sure, I asked the family's opinion and they didn't like it so after umming and arring for over an hour I wiped it all off! So much work went into it but it's something that will be on there for quite a few years so I had to be happy with it. I love borders so that's what I decided to do, it's not perfect but I'm really happy with it. I decided last minute to use a transfer in the centre, now I have a few of these that are very old IOD transfers. I'm thinking easily more than 4 + years, the thing is that the longer you have them in storage the more that they are likely to deteriorate, the room temperature , the humidity etc the sticky stuff doesn't stick very well and if you look closely bits of it are cracked, falling off but that's ok, I love that old worn, imperfect look. It did take me a long time to apply it since I had to rub really hard in a lot of areas. I'm still not quite finished, I've applied a spray sealer on the stamped areas then once that dried I applied the HEWBURY top coat on top and next I'm going to lightly sand it all back to distress it even more but that will do for now. There's a video to follow. Let me know what you honestly think 🤔

A short video on what it currently looks like- 😱🫣 don't judge yet, remember it's got to go through its UGLY stage before it can become pretty 😍
