Winter is here ,and all of a sudden, I think I’m a summer guy , (no hotter then 33 degrees of course with a cool breeze by lunch). When it gets colder and the days are shorter, the sap slows down in the stems of your rosebushes, causing them to flower much less. This is an ideal time to prune the bush right back and reset the framework of the bush, for when the weather warms up and the sap becomes active again.
There is nothing like the first flush of rose flowers on a bush that has had an adequate winter prune.July -Aug

Sharing some fun activities at Hugo's playgroup. I was in charge of coordinating the most fun!! fun!! project. With all my creative fairy helpers we now have an imaginative play area that I hope will be built upon from year to year. Thanks to Ray Hunter, my Dad for making and donating his beautiful creations out of thin air!! And everyone else including Jody Frith ,Michelle and Karolyn Schoch and others who donated ornaments and their talents!!
