Welcome to the Toyota Distribution Centre, Kewdale.

This project comprises a purpose-built parts distribution facility incorporating a warehouse, main and warehouse office spaces, staff amenities, and an integrated loading dock facility. The development features advanced robotic and automated material-handling technology, enhancing operational efficiency, safety, and scalability while servicing a statewide network of 35 Toyota dealerships.

Central to the design is the integration of a cutting-edge Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS), supplied by Vanderlande, a wholly owned subsidiary of Toyota Industries Corporation. The first installation of its kind in the southern hemisphere, the system positions the facility among the most technologically advanced vehicle parts distribution centres in Australia.

The 20,000 m² development has been designed to achieve five-star Green Star and five-star NABERS Energy ratings, reflecting a strong commitment to sustainable design, long-term operational performance, and environmental responsibility.

Meet Stefan, 21-year-old sailor from Perth, Western Australia. Stefan has been making waves both locally and globally! Currently ranked 3rd in Australia and 50th in the world, Stefan is focusing on bringing home Olympic Gold for Australia in 2028.

It hasn’t always been an easy ride – Despite Stefan overcoming a recent back injury, it has only strengthened his resolve and made him more determined to achieve his dreams.

When it comes to sailing, Stefan’s been dominating the scene, with major wins including:

🏆 1st at the UK Open National Championships (2023)
🏆 1st at the Oceania Championships (2020)
🏆 1st at the Singapore National Championships(2019)

On top of all that, he was chosen for the Sports Australia Hall of Fame Tier 1 Scholarship for 2023 and is now being mentored by Aussie sporting legend Steve Waugh.

Stefan’s journey is just beginning, and he’s more focused than ever on achieving his goals in fleet racing.

We can’t wait to see where this next chapter takes him!

Take a tour through the Manning Buildings alterations and addition, brought about by the request from the client to invigorate the function of the existing building, specifically the retail frontage, the arcade linking through to Paddy Troy Mall and reactivating the first floor space, some of which has not been occupied for decades. Manning Buildings were built from 1902 to 1906 in six stages by the trustees for Manning Bros. Estate, to designs believed to be by Cavanagh and Cavanagh as the main architects for the buildings. Although presenting as six distinct buildings, they are related in time, style and construction materials, and present as a harmonious whole in the streetscape. The buildings above canopy level maintained an authentic suite of facades. However, few authentic ground floor shopfronts remained.

The existing high-level facades were meticulously restored, with paint carefully stripped back to the existing lime render beneath. Windows were replaced to match existing and made fully operational creating beautiful tenancies with natural ventilation. The ground floor shopfronts were retained and restored where original examples remained, new shopfronts were installed to compliment the original design. New office space and lobby areas were added to the rear of the building in a lightweight structure so as not to damage the original fabric and have been designed to complement the original building rather than mimic it so that the “old and new” can easily be distinguished.

A new look arcade and public landscaped area to the rear of the building was design to activate Paddy Troy Lane and enhance the pedestrian link through this part of Fremantle, creating an inviting connection between the Fremantle Markets and High Street.

Meyer Shircore Architects were engaged by Australia Post to design and deliver a new specialty facility that meets the changing needs of Perth customers and businesses and keep pace with the strong demand driven by continued online shopping growth.

The distribution centre was designed to be adaptable in nature, with the intention of future scalability as demand continues to grow. Due to the spatial design, the centre has the capacity to process 14,000 parcels per hour, with the potential to process 23,000 per hour if required.
