“Can we just replace a few cupboards? We don’t want a full reno.”
Hands up if you’re a Designer, Cabby or Builder who’s heard this before 🙋🏼🙋🏾♀️🙋🏻♂️
Sadly, the answer is often met with a NO. How come?
The industry is inundated, which means trades can choose to work on the most easy, profitable and enjoyable projects.
Partial fit outs, half designs or refaces aren’t as fun. Trying to work with someone else’s (inferior) design, is higher risk for trades and can often be just as pricey as if you started afresh (assuming you want a flawless result) 😉
We’re sorry to say it’s never as simple as what homeowners think. We wish it was! There is undoing and fixing before anything can even work. There can be unknown knock on scope. And there is no economy of scale in cost when buying bits of materials rather than a bulk order for a full job.
THAT SAID… this particular Lesmurdie project was an exception to the rule 😁
What made it achievable was:
1) the client was willing to understand and work with the limitations of the existing space.
2) we had a definitive start and stop point with a nib wall. We weren’t trying to integrate old and new.
3) they engaged Bronz DC first to plan and document so it was clear what needed to be done and quoting the project actually became feasible.
4) they engaged Bronz DC to source trades which enabled us to find the best team/s willing and available to work with us after we had our ducks in a row.
5) their existing kitchen was fairly modern with neutral detail which reduced risk of any stark difference between old and new - we were able to work with it and make the final design look intentional.
Then it just came down to careful ex*****on by CabinetsWA and .construction 🙏🏻
And most importantly, our clients were a delight to collaborate with - thank you Anya & Alan 🫶🏽
