Oxalis really do carry a terrible name, one or two species really have ruined it for a whole genus of plants. The winter flowering varieties are probably my favourites as they are dormant in summer and need no water or attention and are super easy in winter to keep happy!

Can’t believe how well our Cupressus have grown, pushing 5-6m now in just 3 years from Tubestock! They are forming a nice backdrop in the front garden, just in time for me to start thinking about changing the front garden and pull them out 🙃 🙃🙃 I won’t yet 😅 but I have a better idea on what is worth growing and trying in Wyreema and I think I have a really good idea that will transform this space!

Roses are apart of the structure of the Wyreema garden. Almost exclusively planted are heritage roses, teas, Chinas and Polyantha types absolutely adore our climate and as the saying goes keep repeating what’s working! Pictured here is Perle d’or, Kathleen Kellerhan and Marjorie Palmer.

Loving these Nemesias, can be found in 4 packs from time to time in the garden centre making them really affordable winter colour 💚

What I don’t miss about being apart of the Garden Competition is the dead heading of my annuals! I get to enjoy them all winter long!

This seasons sweet peas are up and racing! Just 7 days after planting! Love fresh seeds and soaking really does help with their germination, I did a whole story on the process over on Sungrown Seedlings & Nursery page if you scroll down.

Despite the fact I absolutely won’t have any time to enter the garden into the Chronicle Garden Competition this year. I would be lost without my pockets of annual colour around the front garden and some pots. Can’t wait to see how this years colours combine going with much darker and richer colours this time compared to the lighter peachy colours of last year.
