12 years with the bestest girl 🐕❤️

Terrible rabbit catcher, pretty good apprentice. Thank you for never trying to eat your sister, even when she deserves it. The bestest nana who will still react to crying babies or any kind (and who is very relieved when it's not her problem). Let's go for another 12 please.

Next Monday 23 October between 2.00 - 2.45 pm, parents, grandparents and carers of children with autism or sensory disabilities are invited for a "Sensory-friendly story-time and meet the animals" session at Edendale.

Children will get an opportunity to get up close with the animals, including feeding and patting them in a small group. Farmer Raewyn will share a classic farmyard book in Edendale's beautiful surrounds.

A social story that helps young children with sensory disabilities to prepare for their visit is available on our webpage. A quiet space will be provided on the day.

All registered attendees will receive a free voucher for a drink and a snack at Edendale's Cafe Eden.

For further information and to book in for this session, please follow this link.

When not in the garden you'll find me turning fresh produce into treats, preserves or other useful trinkets (too early for Christmas ornaments?)

Here we have some of the latest jam fancies, blueberry this time from our own bushes. Restock of raspberry jam from Kinglake Raspberries picked and frozen in March. Next year I'll pick more as we've eaten our way through all of them already!

I love this. So often we simply throw out things that are broken when with a little effort they can not only be fixed, but made more beautiful. Especially during a time when so many of us are financially doing it tough, this is something to embrace

So true - currently tossing up whether or not I start up my spring market seedlings inside under a grow light or wait a little longer....

Winter is the quietest time of the year in nurseries, so now is when we take the opportunity to get things done. Who says you can't plant in winter? Therese is out there refreshing our herb garden today.

Remember, the garden has to work with you. Don't get too hung up on the ideal or else life will tend to get in the way! Get your hands dirty when you can - it's good for the soul!
