A Thoughtful and insightful viewpoint from Clint Eastward. They say ageing is a privilege, yet it is accompanied by many other experiences.

Clint just says, “Getting old sucks, doesn’t it? And yet, old age is not just wrinkles, It's a memory asking to be heard. Sometimes, an elderly person doesn’t need advice.

I know as I am ageing, I'm seeing my older mum, still my treasured parent and those who have now gone from my life with a new viewpoint. Like Clint, my body is showing signs of what it means to be over half a century old, and to still be here when some friends and family have already left this plane is a reality.

As Clint states, simply connect with others, say hello to neighbours and be involved with life affirming projects or groups. Whatever part of the timeline we are on, connection matters.

Yes, connection matters and it makes me ask friends, family and random strangers at a function, wedding or a funeral, tell me, how do you stay connected in your daily life? It's a question people actually respond to in interesting ways, and isn't that a lovely way to feel connected too?

Dying to Know Day held annually on the 8th August is fast approaching!

Dying to Know is a national campaign that has been bringing Australians together since 2013 to start conversations about death, dying and grief.

Through the campaign's theme of Nobody Knows, Australians are reminded to stop leaving their loved ones to play the world's worst guessing game.
Because if people don't share their wishes, nobody knows. 🌱
